For you

What first meetup should you choose if you prefer a quieter group?

Updated · 2 min read

If you prefer a quieter first meetup, choose a small group, a specific activity and a known duration. Ask about noise and breaks without explaining a personal reason; you do not have to join exercises you do not want.

What can you ask before attending?

“This is my first time and I prefer a smaller group. How many people are coming and how long is it? Is it somewhere we can talk without loud music?” These concern the format, rather than requiring everyone to be like you. If the answer does not suit you, choose another plan without criticising the group.

How do you participate without talking all the time?

Listen, comment on the activity and ask a question when you want. In a speaking round, passing is fine. If asked to share something private, say you would prefer another topic. Two simple questions can provide a starting point, but you do not have to meet a speaking quota or act as host.

What are the limits of this approach?

This is a way to choose a meetup, not health guidance or a clinical solution. No format guarantees comfort or friendship. LoopClub is in development and this website does not assign groups by personality. If a first plan does not suit you, try another size or activity.

Frequently asked questions

Must I explain why I prefer a small group?

No. Ask about spots, noise and duration. Personal details are not needed to choose a format that suits you.

Can I pass during a question round?

Yes. Agree on that option before starting. A social exercise does not need to force anyone to share something she does not want to.

Is a quiet meetup always silent?

No. Ask about the venue and activity. Quiet means different things to different people and does not promise constant conditions.

Where LoopClub fits

LoopClub is in development and is not available in the app stores yet. It is designed for women aged 18+ in Buenos Aires: plans by neighbourhood and interests, identity verification and group chat. You can already use this website’s guides. We cannot guarantee friendships, attendance or safety at a meetup.
