What is a friendship app and what is it for?
Updated · 1 min read
A friendship app is a platform aimed at platonic connections: it may connect profiles, groups or people around an activity. Formats differ between services, so do not assume every app uses matches, verification or organised events.
What does platonic mean here?
It means the intention is friendship, without a romantic or sexual expectation. That does not automatically define every group’s rules. Check the platform’s guidelines and explain what kind of plan you want before confirming.
What should you check before choosing an app?
- Actual availability in your area and access requirements.
- Whether it connects profiles, proposes groups or lets people create activities.
- Current costs and separate meetup expenses.
- Rules, privacy and blocking or reporting features.
- Do not confuse verification with guaranteed safety or compatibility.
Where LoopClub fits
LoopClub is in development and is not available in the app stores yet. It is designed for women aged 18+ in Buenos Aires: plans by neighbourhood and interests, identity verification and group chat. You can already use this website’s guides. We cannot guarantee friendships, attendance or safety at a meetup.
